My name is Magdalena Corinne Kaluza. I’m an interdisciplinary artist of Polish, French, and Maya K’iche’ descent. A practitioner of participatory processes and community art since 2006, my work seeks to honor our beautiful world.

I’ve written, performed, and produced puppetry with Monkeybear’s Harmolodic Workshop, New Native Theatre, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, and Full Moon Puppet Show. Through Puppet Lab, I co-created a show for which we received Workshop and Production grants from The Jim Henson Foundation, performing at various Twin Cities museums and community centers.

As a poet and member of Palabristas, a latinx spoken word collective, I performed and hosted writing workshops at colleges across Minnesota. I was a 2021 Mirrors and Windows Fellow at the Loft Literary Center. I designed, facilitated, and painted community murals with Hope Community's Power of Vision and facilitated community education experiences with Gardening Matters, Cycles for Change, Plant Grow Share, University of Minnesota Extension, and Inquilinxs Unidxs por Justicia.

Most recently, due to debilitating Long Covid symptoms, I’ve pivoted my art practice to explore the wondrous worlds of pottery and flower pressing.
